While driving along Highway 169, Minnesota River Valley's Scenic Byway, the beauty of the valley embraces you. Majestic eagles, hawks, deer and wild turkeys are some of the common wildlife you will encounter. The rolling farmland, wooded bluffs, river wetlands and flowing waters of the Minnesota River will welcome you.

Nestled in the Minnesota River Valley, our town on the river was established in 1852. Le Sueur was named for Pierre Charles Le Sueur, the first European explorer to venture north up the Minnesota River in the year 1700.

The Le Sueur/Henderson School District #2397 boasts three elementary schools, Park Elementary, Hilltop Elementary and St. Anne's Catholic School. The Le Sueur/Henderson Middle School and High School allow for student academic, athletic and extracurricular involvement. The voters in the Le Sueur-Henderson School District passed a Referendum, on May 17, 2005, to make improvements to the Middle and High School; learn more about the plans on the Links page. The Minnesota New Country School, a charter school, in nearby Henderson allows for individualized learning for each student. Preschoolers can begin their learning journey with Early Childhood Family Education Classes and also at the Le Sueur Nursery School.

The diverse industrial base of Le Sueur employs hundreds of people. Such companies as Cambria, Davisco, Le Sueur Incorporated, Geo Mask, It Takes Two, and Michael Foods Egg Products, to mention a few, show that established as well as fresh new businesses thrive in our town.
